Meet Johnny Appleseed:
Makenna's first grade class studied Johnny Appleseed. Did you know he is a real person? He worried about starving children, so we walked hundreds of miles planting apple trees. Some of those trees are going strong today.
On Johnny Appleseed day, they dressed like him, made applesauce in class and got to walk around barefoot (since that is what he did). :)
