The Kenyon Family: Mom and Dad

Mom and Dad Riding came to visit us!! They came a few days after Christmas and stayed for a week.

The night they came in, we met at Chuy's for dinner.

My cousin, Kallie, and her husband Peter and son Max, came down from Dallas too see my parents too. So they met us there as well.

We've never had bad service at Chuy's before...but this time...wow. It took forever...okay 1.5 hours to get a table. Then it took a long time to get our food. And once our food came out, we realized we didn't have any utensils. We informed the waiter and he said he would get on it and a few other things. He came back a few minutes later and said they were OUT of silverware...WHAT?! My favorite thing about it is that he tried to just slip it in there...he said, "So we are out of silverware and out of the ranch....". Haha. He came back a minute or two later with our silverware. That was the first. :)

Richard wanted to tell him..."Well, we're out of money."

Makenna is GLUED to my dad when he comes. She loves his never ending teasing and poking. They are a good match. :)

We took a hike to Hamilton Pool...of course.

My parents have been to visit many times, but this was the first time we took them here.

It's beautiful, even in December

Makenna sported her UT shirt. She wanted to tease Grandpa...because he is always giving her a hard time about the Longhorns. She was confident when putting it on, walked out to show him and lost it all. :) He made a comment and she quickly said, "My Dad made me wear it!". Haha.

She was like a mountain goat this time.

They are so silly.

So I made them do it again. :)

Richard had another birthday. He's an old man...okay not really...but 32! We tricked him this year. We got him a bike (which we did before Christmas, because with it being so close to the Holiday, you have to plan ahead). Natalie was concerned because the bike was silver and red...not blue, his favorite color. So the day after we got it, she was asking him about favorite colors. He said green, blue, gray. She said, "what about red? Do you like red?" He said, "Yeah, I like red....did you get me something red for Christmas?!" (this is where HE gets in trouble...asking TOO many questions to an unsuspecting 5 year old!). She said, "Yes, but you can't see it. It's at the Brunson's" (They were letting us store it in their garage until his bday). So then he blurted out, "You got me a bike, didn't you!?" She tried oh so hard NOT to smile, but by that time it was pretty obvious that he hit it right on the nose. What he DIDN'T know was that it was for his bday, NOT Christmas. :) So we played it. We told him we were going to take it back since he figured it out. On Christmas I even sent him outside to get his big present...he didn't find anything of course...haha. Serves him right. :) Anyway....he did get his bike. We don't have a picture of it, but we have a video. This box that he has in the picture was a note telling him where to find it. And now we can FINALLY go on family bike rides. :) That makes me happy. And him too! (I hope!)

We drove over to Houston to see my Mom's brother's family and her sister's family. Her sister, my Aunt Sue, was actually out of town helping to nurse my Grandmother back to health, but we planned to see her kids and hubby. We stayed at a hotel with a continental breakfast. All hotels (at least all the ones we have stayed in so far) have Texas shaped waffles. Texas Pride, baby.

We ended up not seeing my Uncle Rob and his family too, because they all got a stomach bug the morning we were supposed to get together. :( We were sad. But had a good visit with my cousins and Uncle Arn.

My cousin, Melissa, has a radio show. Yeah, she's really cool. :)

She invited my Mom and I to go with her to check it out. It was a really fun experience. I loved it. :)

Right before the Ann Santos Show was about to begin.

My girls and cousin Melissa's kids get a long really well. Whenever we get together the kids have so much fun. This is Angelina with Makenna. She is a year older than Makenna. She happened to get a rainbow loom for Christmas too and the two girls went to town! Check out those necklaces! They were even jump roping with them :)

We also spent New Years with my parents. We had an intense night of Rumicub. :) My Mom would have killed us, except for one hand where she was never able to put down tiles.

We played mini golf.

This was the first time my girls have played.

They had some fun holes!

After mini golf we had a picnic lunch at Zilker park and then walked around Barton Springs Pool. It is a blocked off area of the lake (that is actually a river...). It was open free to anyone, so we walked around it and watched the crazy people that actually got in.

We also went to San Antonio for a day. My parents had never been there either.
