For Christmas we went to Washington DC to visit Richard's sister Laura and her family! We had a BLAST! We loved it there. The King's kept us comfortable, fed, and entertained. We also got to relax! :) We were there for 2 weeks and had a great time the entire time we were there! We also got to see 2 of my cousins and their families and our really good friends, the Packers, while we were there! Thanks Ryan, Laura, Kylie and Wesley for sharing your home, your beds, your space and your Christmas with us! We can't wait to come visit again!
Here are some highlights from the trip!
***WARNING***
there are A LOT of pictures... :)
Ryan and Laura at the National Air and Space Museum.
This was one that we took all the kids to. They had a great time. We all rode some sort of simulator while we were there...we all felt a little sick afterwards...but it was fun! :)
Our little family. The airplane behind and above us is painted like a shark. This was Makenna's favorite airplane. She kept asking where the shark was the whole time we were there.
On the day this picture was taken we were speed tourists...we walked super fast from monument to monument trying to squeeze it all in. Our feet were so sore afterwards, but we were so glad we got to see it all!
This was also the very spot that I got bird poop on Laura's leather coat...I am so sorry! (luckily it came off) Oh and thanks again Chris for picking the spot...
The Washington DC Temple.
They have a big Christmas lights production every year. It was gorgeous! There were a TON of people there. We just drove by, because it was pretty late. We had just come from my cousin Derek's house visiting his family and my cousin Kari and her family. Thanks for getting together! It was fun to see you and your cute kids! And the food was great!
CHRISTMAS!!!
Christmas Eve we had a big Christmas dinner with Ryan's family. Makenna fell in love with Grandma and Grandpa King! They were all so kind to us! We felt at home and like we were around family. Thanks!
After dinner the kids acted out the Nativity. Makenna got to be the Angel (she is standing on the sheep...aka Grandpa King) and Natalie was baby Jesus. They all did a great job!
My cute family in their matching PJ's on Christmas morning.
Makenna opening her stocking.
She also got an Elmo doll, a Curious George doll, a princess chair, and some puzzles. Natalie got a floor mat that keeps her entertained! :)
We need to be better next year at taking pictures on Christmas...we didn't get any of Richard and I opening gifts, or Natalie with her gifts...that is my new years resolution! To take more pictures at Christmas time! :)
And here is Kenna with "George" on the plane ride home. We were so lucky with traveling! We didn't have ANY delays...and our only mishap was that they lost (but returned) or carseats. They give out loaners...so don't worry! We had such a great time there! But it was good to get home! We flew in and out of Seattle...so after leaving for the airport at 4 in the morning (1 am our time), we got to Seattle at 1230 and drove the 3 hours home just a few hours later. The kids slept the entire time in the car and stayed asleep until 8 the next morning! We were all exhausted!
